Chicago basically completed the smart street light plan

Recently, Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot announced that the city of Chicago has basically completed the Chicago Smart Street Lighting Program (CSLP) - a large-scale street lighting modernization project that improves nighttime visibility throughout the city and is expected to be completed in the next 10 years. Save Chicago $100 million in electricity costs. This project is primarily the responsibility of the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT). The project involved converting more than 280,000 outdated, dimmed high-pressure sodium street lights (HPS)—about 85 percent of the city’s street light inventory—to high-efficiency LED lights.
